River View Christian Academy (RVCA), is a program of Teen Rescue, Inc.  located in Northern California. RVCA is a fully-accredited California school founded and operated by Teen Rescue. Teen Rescue works with troubled teens and their parents and we have a Christian residential boarding school, the River View Christian Academy, with a program for girls and a program for boys. We are looking for staff, both male and female, to work with our students. Our staff work 4 days/week, with 3 days off.

WHY RVCA IS UNIQUE
One of the reasons for our success at RVCA is the high level of staff involvement. The staff does not work with the students for an eight hour shift and then go home. Rather, they live with the students, eat with them, participate in PE with them, tutor them, and take part in all the other student activities. This constant interaction between the staff and the girls and boys allows the staff members to quickly develop a deep relationship with the students. It is because of these close relationships that trust is built very quickly between the students and the staff. The staff can then effectively show the girls and boys the ways in which they need to change.

Perhaps the biggest difference at RVCA is our insistence on maintaining a Christian foundation without forcing Christianity on our students. The decision to become a Christian or rededicate their lives to God is completely up to the students. The level system that RVCA employs in rewarding the students is not affected by the student's willingness or lack of willingness to have God in their lives.

We also take the approach of teaching the students to make the right choices on their own rather than telling them or pressuring them to act a certain way. Our desire is to teach the child to take ownership of her decisions. This encourages a healthy and independent mentality that will stay with the students after they have completed their time at RVCA rather than enabling a dependency on others.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We ask that our staff be spiritually mature with great communication skills and be especially willing and able to listen. Staff need to have a heart for this kind of ministry. We want them to provide the love and support the students need while maintaining the discipline and accountability required. Staff provide supervision and support in areas of interpersonal communication, education, daily chores, spiritual growth, life-skills development and family relationships. We ask our staff to form positive relationships with our students that will give them an understanding of God’s loving character and provide them the hope, direction and skills needed to become healthy adults. 

Purpose of Position

To provide an efficient and responsive administrative, organisational, and logistical service to the Director, helping him to manage and prioritise his time.

Scope

The Personal Assistant works on any and all aspects of Momentum Ministries' activities, interacting with trustees and managers while working for the Director

The Personal Assistant has no staff reporting to them, either directly or indirectly.

 We are seeking to employ a casual Garden Maintenance Person to become part of the grounds maintenance team. With your help we will endeavour to maintain the gardens and grounds at 7 of our school and office sites. Your enthusiasm and high work ethic will secure a full roster at good hourly rates, which might lead to a full-time appointment.

 While performing your duties you will be required to operate powered tools and equipment associated with gardening and maintenance. You will enjoy the benefits of living in WA by working out of doors and negotiating “lifestyle” working hours.

 As part of the employment opportunity you will be shown how to maintain manicured gardens to a very high service standard by following set procedures associated with garden maintenance.

·      Unordained Pastor or Ordained Pastor – reporting to senior pastor

·      Prior pastoral experience would be an advantage
