He is up front in his faith, and now Australia’s Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, has been interviewed on the opening night of Hillsong’s Australian conference.

The annual conference, held at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, saw the country’s leader invited by the church’s founder, Brian Houston.

The Pentecostal Christian, who was recently re-elected to run the country at Australia’s 2019 Federal elections, spoke on stage, along with his wife, in front of 21,000 people.

When asked how Christians could pray for him, he replied, “Firstly to pray. Our nation needs more prayer.

“And humility of leadership and the wisdom to see what He sees and to move towards that.”

Hillsong’s global senior minister, who stood against the country endorsing same sex marriage, which ultimately ended up officially being passed as law in 2017, has publicly endorsed Scott Morrison as the country’s leader.

Morrison was not the country’s leader at the time, instead taking the reins in 2018.

The PM is in the process of producing a Religious Freedom Bill in light of rugby star Israel Folau’s sacking. His support of the nation’s Christians will be essential if the law has any chance of being passed.
