Pride London organisers disown lesbians who object to men living as women

Campaigners who deny that men can become women have been denounced by the official organisers of an LGBT parade.
Holding banners such as “lesbian = female homosexual”, the women stepped out ahead of the official Pride in London march and distributed flyers which criticised “Trans politics”.
But Pride parade organisers deplored their stance, accusing them of showing a “level of bigotry, ignorance and hate that is unacceptable”.
Speaking to homosexual news website PinkNews, the marchers explained that they objected to “men who say they are lesbians”.
One explained that she did not object to transsexual people being at the event, but “I don’t believe that you can change sex”.
Calling for a “proper, open debate” about upcoming changes to the laws on transsexualism, a woman said transsexual activists were preventing discussion by “violence, intimidation and threats”.
In a statement, Pride in London described the women’s behaviour as “shocking and disgusting”. It added: “We reject what this group stands for. They do not share our values, which are about inclusion and respect”.
Last week the Government launched a 16-week consultation on the Gender Recognition Act which could see safeguards for legally changing sex removed.
Currently, it is necessary to have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria, and to have lived as if a member of the opposite sex for two years.
